Alexandre Stachtchenko is a Franco-Canadian entrepreneur, author, and speaker, specializing in issues related to digital assets, cryptocurrencies, and notably Bitcoin. In 2015, he co-founded and became the General Director of Blockchain France, a consulting and training company specializing in blockchain and crypto technologies. In 2017, the company became Blockchain Partner, expanding its offering with strategic and operational technological support. In 2021, Blockchain Partner joined the teams at KPMG France, where Alexandre took on the role of Director of Blockchain & Cryptos. Alexandre has trained numerous large companies and public organizations on the challenges of these technologies, and he currently advises private and public leaders and decision-makers on developing their strategy related to digital assets. Among his historical clients, nearly three-quarters of the CAC 40 can be found, particularly financial institutions, as well as public organizations like the Banque de France or the National Frequency Agency (ANFR). Also involved in the development of the sector and French competitiveness, he co-founded the ChainTech association in 2016, of which he was president until its dissolution, and especially the ADAN in 2020, taking up the torch, which subsequently became the association representing crypto professionals in France. In this context, Alexandre has actively participated in the evolution of legislation and regulation in France and Europe. Notable contributions include the PACTE law (PSAN regime and ICO visa), the establishment of accounting standards through the ANC (Accounting Standards Authority), taxation (PLF 2019 in particular), and the MiCA regime in Europe. He has also been a speaker, participant, or witness in numerous working groups, such as those of the National Assembly (x2) and the Senate (Digital Sovereignty), France Stratégie, Finance Innovation, various ministries, or the Government's Blockchain Task Force. Alexandre is particularly appreciated for his vision of macro issues and his pedagogical abilities, which lead him to be regularly sought after for interventions and conferences, as well as being considered a reference contact for French and international media. He can notably be found on BFM Business for a monthly column, but also regularly on various media such as Radio France (Inter, Culture, Info…), Sud Radio, Arte, or Canal +. Alexandre is also co-author of two reference works, the latest of which, "Bitcoin & Cryptomonnaies faciles," was published at the end of 2022. He also publishes on his social networks about major issues related to cryptos, such as anonymity, decentralization, regulation, sovereignty, and ecology and energy transition via Bitcoin. Finally, Alexandre is also a direct supporter of entrepreneurship in France, as a Business Angel for several projects like Bitstack, Sorare Data, Swaap Labs, and Tilvest.

BITCOIN, NFT, DECENTRALIZED FINANCE: THE CHALLENGES OF WEB 3 FOR COMPANIES

Behind these UFOs that are cryptocurrencies, a whole new financial infrastructure is emerging, allowing for international transactions that are inexpensive, fast, uncensorable, and without a trusted third party. It is also the emergence of unique tokens, NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), which promise to reinvent the customer relationship by creating new ways to interact between brands and communities. Through a simple and accessible explanation, we will try to understand what these new assets imply as a fundamental change for companies and why the current euphoria over the price of these assets should not overshadow the essential underpinnings.

Conference #2

BITCOIN & ENVIRONMENT: UNTANGLING THE TRUE FROM THE FALSE

In 2017, the World Economic Forum stated: "By 2020, Bitcoin will consume more energy than the entire world does today." As of 2023, it is clear that this prediction has not come to pass. Today, Bitcoin's electricity consumption represents an order of magnitude around 0.05% of global consumption. Yet, this has not prevented the media from collectively relaying this assertion and presenting it as a given, including for policymakers who are looking for new reasons to hinder the development of this monetary UFO that competes with traditional euros and dollars. While the operation of Bitcoin does indeed involve a relatively significant electricity expenditure, the reality is more complex than this simple fact. By offering a monetary alternative that promotes sobriety, financing the deployment of renewable energy sources, stabilizing electrical grids through demand response programs, or even enabling the monetization of global methane capture, could Bitcoin, on the contrary, be considered an counterintuitive solution to climate change?

Conference #3

BITCOIN & CRYPTOCURRENCIES: UNDERSTANDING THE ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL ISSUES

Bitcoin, NFT, blockchain, stablecoins, DeFi, Ethereum… In just a decade, cryptocurrencies have become a major political and economic issue. However, despite their popularity, their universe remains complex, filled with excitement and skepticism. In the age of the Internet, and at a time when the pitfalls of the monetary and financial system are becoming increasingly evident, understanding the alternative that cryptocurrencies represent is necessary. Origins, functioning, stakes, and hopes… In an educational conference accessible to novices, we will analyze the emergence of these new digital assets and their consequences on our current and future lives.
