Emmanuel De Mauduit

An authentic leader at the service of the common good

speaker-picture

Private pilot, wealth management expert, trained at Paris-Dauphine and Clermont-Auvergne, auditor of the Institute of Advanced National Defense Studies and citizen reserve officer, I combine these sources of inspiration to train and support organizations in their agile evolutions. As a private pilot, I know that every flight is a project, a complex enterprise to manage. The human factor is decisive in flight safety: following procedures is not enough; one must discern, decide, and act, sometimes stepping outside the framework set by the checklist. To learn to fly an airplane, my instructors also taught me to postpone a flight, to interrupt a takeoff or a landing. This is a resource for leadership development and decision-making learning. Managing wealth means organizing the legal, fiscal, social, financial aspects, and above all, diving into the history of a family, a link between generations. As a regional director at AXA for 20 years, I have valued a global, human, and long-term vision of client support, for whom the best solution is often the simplest. My knowledge of the military world has confirmed this long-term vision, the meaning to give to action. I have learned that a pedagogy favoring maieutics is a key to revealing who we truly are, in order to give the best of ourselves. This art of bringing forth minds, combined with experiential training, allows everyone to practice collective effectiveness. It is the leadership of each individual, put at the service of the common good. By combining these human skills, I help to reveal the talents of organizations. I teach to understand through listening rather than seeking to be right, to include through assertiveness and pedagogy rather than wanting to convince through demagoguery. I help individuals and organizations to make a choice: To be an actor or to suffer, to build solutions or to create obstacles, to be a source of profits or costs? My success is helping you choose to be an actor of profitable solutions for all.

Love Those You Command... Yes, But How?

What if we talked about love and leadership? In "Night Flight", Antoine de Saint-Exupéry invites us: "Love those you command. But without telling them." Can we reconcile love for others and the performance of the company, the organization? Is it compatible with the leader's posture? If you choose to tell those you command that you love them, the question then arises as to how to tell them. To answer this, I draw inspiration from the work of Gary Chapman, who theorized 5 languages, and from my knowledge of military and aeronautical worlds. As a preamble, I assert that loving those you command means loving them as they are, with their talents but also their fragilities, visible or not. From my perspective, the role of the leader is not to transform their collaborators, but to reveal them to themselves in a collective organization, where everyone has their place and gives their best, intensely. Then the organization can transform while respecting everyone. That is also the common good!
