Guillaume De Sercey
Former Colonel of the French Foreign Legion
A graduate of the Special Military School of St Cyr, the War School, and ESCP Europe, Colonel de Sercey served for 30 years in the French army. For 13 years, he served in operational units, including 9 years in the famous Foreign Legion, an elite and atypical troop. He held command positions, overseeing up to 1000 legionnaires. He was deployed on operations 4 times, in Africa, the Balkans, and Afghanistan. How is the Foreign Legion able to generate cohesion among soldiers from 150 different nationalities, foreigners willing to give their lives for a flag that is not theirs, to recruit from all over the world, and to train such diverse profiles with such efficiency? He has been a coach and speaker since May 2023, sharing his military leadership experience through lived anecdotes that are flavorful, impressive, and always touching in their humanity.

Leadership and Operational Cohesion
As a former colonel who served for 30 years in the French army, including 9 significant years at the heart of the Foreign Legion, I had the privilege of commanding and leading men in some of the most demanding environments in the world. From my years at the helm of up to 1000 legionnaires, deployed in complex operational theaters such as Africa, the Balkans, and Afghanistan, I have drawn fundamental lessons on management, leadership, and team cohesion. Today, bolstered by this unique operational experience and complemented by high-level training at the École Spéciale Militaire de St Cyr, the War School, and ESCP Europe, I offer my expertise to your companies through conferences and team coaching. My interventions are not mere military stories. They provide a concrete and applicable perspective on the challenges you face daily: * How to exercise authority with fairness and effectiveness in a constantly evolving environment? My experience in the Legion, where authority is paramount but must be exercised with kindness and rigor, will provide you with essential keys to understanding. * How to unite diverse and multicultural teams around a common goal? The Foreign Legion, with its 145 nationalities, is a unique laboratory for intercultural management. I share with you proven methods to transform diversity into a real strength. * How to restore meaning to commitment and mobilize your collaborators? The Legionnaire's code of honor is a powerful vector of meaning and belonging. Together, we will explore how to transpose these principles into your organization. * How to prepare your teams for change management and adversity? Operational missions have taught me the importance of preparation, adaptability, and resilience. I will share concrete tools to anticipate and manage transformations within your company. My approach is operational, rooted in experience, and always centered on the human aspect. Through impactful anecdotes and enlightening analyses, I offer you an inspiring perspective to rethink your management and optimize the collective. Together, we will explore how to establish performance-oriented management, based on the deep conviction that "Nothing great is done without Man."
