Lucie Buchère - Speaker on histoire

As an Associate Professor of History, I am currently in my final year of a PhD in Greek History at the École Normale Supérieure in Lyon. Alongside this research work, I have taught for several years at universities such as ENS Lyon, UPEC, and the University of Tours. I also founded a company in 2025 called l'Atelier de Solon, through which I offer history conferences and support in preparing for competitive exams.

I have the pleasure of giving conferences since 2022 as part of Universities for All and cultural associations, mainly in Lyon but also throughout the rest of France.

My conferences primarily address history, philosophy, and general culture, from Antiquity to the contemporary world. I am particularly interested in the ancient period:

• Political regimes, civic identities, forms of power and its representations.
• Religious practices and mythical narratives.
• Poetry, art (music, dance, sculpture), and architecture.
• The role of women as well as less visible groups represented in the sources.
• The legacy of Antiquity in contemporary societies and the circulation of cultural models.

My goal is to offer conferences that are both rigorous, lively, and accessible, in which historical knowledge becomes a means to reflect on issues that remain deeply relevant today.

I can intervene on historical subjects left to the speaker's choice or propose conferences designed around a specific issue, depending on the audience and the context of the event.
