Romain Lachens – Speaker | "Creating Movement: When Engagement Reveals the Power of Communities" What if the success of a project depended not only on its quality... but on its ability to become desirable? Romain Lachens is one of those who knows how to transform an ambition into a collective dynamic. Not in theory. In practice, on a very large scale. Specialist in community engagement (employees, clients, spectators...) with the largest organizations in the sports world (PSG, IOC, Alpes 2030, French Rugby Federation...) and as a former Director of Engagement for Paris 2024, he has led for nearly 10 years one of the most ambitious challenges ever undertaken in France: mobilizing an entire country around the largest global event. For Paris 2024, the result is unprecedented: 5 million engaged members in the Paris 2024 Club 5,000 communities mobilized through the Terre de Jeux label 60,000 events organized across the territory Over 600 personalities and 1,200 engaged athletes 200,000 activated supporters, supervised by 1,000 atmosphere leaders A massive, structured... and deeply human engagement mechanism. 🎤 A unique expertise: long-term engagement Romain does not speak of engagement as a concept. 👉 It’s his profession. His field. His know-how. In his conferences, he addresses concrete issues faced by all organizations: - How to move a project from acceptable to desirable - How to engage without spreading oneself too thin (and why trying to reach everyone is a mistake) - How to re-motivate teams over the long term and keep the flame alive - How to engage internally despite resistance - How to do a lot with few resources - Why execution makes all the difference - When and how to pivot without losing sight of the goal - And what distinguishes high-performing organizations: the culture of going the extra mile 💡 A concrete, embodied, immediately actionable approach Romain shares: - Operational tools and proven methods - Simple and replicable processes - Field anecdotes from high-intensity projects - Keys to creating engaged communities that tell authentic stories Because at its core, his expertise is simple: 👉 engagement is not decreed — it is built, nurtured, and maintained. 🚀 A journey at the crossroads of high-level sports, business, and engagement Trained at ISC Paris, graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California (where he competed as a high-level tennis player), and then holding a Master's degree from ESSEC in Sports Management and Strategy, Romain has built a unique career: - Marketing Director at Lagardère (sports & international talents) - Director of the Sports Marketing MBA at ISC - Entrepreneur in sports consulting - Key player in the mobilization of Paris 2024, spokesperson for the Games - President of the Athletes Alumni Association (5,000 athletes) - President of Winvolve: a consulting firm in community engagement with clients including: IOC, PSG, French Rugby Federation, Millet, Orange, Alpes 2030... Author of the book published by Editions Fayard in 2025: "From a France that Complains to a France that Wins" Tedx Romain Lachens: "The Superpower of Communities" 🔥 Why invite Romain Lachens? Because he does not just inspire. 👉 He provides the keys to take action. His conferences trigger awareness, but above all operational breakthroughs. Transforming a vision into movement. Sustaining unity. And unleashing a collective energy that changes everything.

The superpower of communities: no magic, just engagement

1H30 conference on the power of communities in organizations, for business, communication, internal mobilization, or societal issues. Presentation on the method, the main principles to respect with concrete and inspirational examples. Illustration of the main phases of engagement: vision, mapping of communities to engage, prioritization, defining engagement programs, facilitation, measurement/correction, making it known. Through this method, we will address the following points: 1. Breaking preconceived ideas A community cannot be bought Engagement cannot be decreed By trying to speak to everyone, no one is mobilized 2. The community activation method Identify priority communities (and accept not to address everyone) Understand their engagement drivers (emotion, utility, belonging, pride…) Define a clear and desirable value proposition 3. The pillars of a successful strategy A logic of small steps rather than a grand theoretical plan The creation of engagement rituals The activation of relay leaders (ambassadors, internal influencers) The key role of authentic storytelling 4. Concrete processes How to structure a simple and effective engagement plan How to create activation loops (engage → value → amplify) How to measure what really matters 5.
