Head of Communications - change strategies, international communications, digital transformation
My career revolves around three time spans, three companies and three passions. I benefit from 26 years of communications experience, including 19 years as head of communications and 13 years as a member of executive committees of multibillion-dollar businesses. I held a succession of communications jobs at Alcatel, DCNS and Microsoft where I gained a comprehensive experience both in terms of communications issues (branding, media relations, internal communications, crisis management, digital transformation, marketing...) and business environments (B2B and B2C, growing and declining markets, public and private companies representing very different corporate cultures). My added value is the product of three passions: 1. Change: The design and implementation of change strategies – i.e. perception changes to foster revenue growth and operational changes to increase profitability growth. Case in point at DCNS where my team and I developed meaningful communications (vision, strategy, values) to mobilize the company’s stakeholders. Furthermore, we generated a 32% compound annual growth of the communications performance and a 16% growth of its ROI. 2. International: The management of international activities and teams. My multi-continental team and I changed Alcatel’s image in information highways from a niche player to the global market leader and managed the crisis communication resulting from the dot-com bubble burst. 3. Digital: The deployment of digital transformation, such as the doubling of the share of digital in Microsoft France’s marketing mix. Further to my professional experience, my passion for communications spans my Superception.fr website on all things perception related (blog, newsletter and podcast), my published books and my activity as a lecturer, including at TEDx.

Management by Meaning
Why: The disintermediation caused by the widespread adoption of digital technologies shakes the relationships between managers and their teams. What: My talks address leadership, the role of meaning (vision, strategy, culture, values...) in motivation, as well as the effects of the emergence of Generation Z on companies and employer brands. How: In addition to the analyses I publish on this topic on my blog Superception, I dedicated a book, 'Give Meaning, It Will Return to You', to the relevance of management in the era of Twitter, Snapchat, and Generation Z.
Digital Transformation
Why: Digital is no longer a sector. Companies, instead of deploying a 'digital strategy', must adapt their overall strategy to the digital, social, and mobile world in which they now operate. What: My talks address the impact of digital on the competitive ecosystem and the related transformation of companies. How: I am the author of Superception, a reference blog on digital trends and strategies where I publish articles on monitoring and reflection on these issues. I also published a book, 'The Awkward Genius', dedicated to digital transformation.
Optimism and Resilience
Why: The emergence of new countries on the international economic stage, ongoing technological innovations, and the digital revolution make the competition faced by companies increasingly fierce. These developments put a strain on the ability of their employees to overcome challenges. What: My talks discuss my four encounters with death and explain how this improbable flirtation offers me an inexhaustible source of optimism every day. How: I gave a TEDx talk about the tribulations I have endured and the lessons I have learned from them.
Risk Taking
Why: in management as in mountaineering, the ability to take risks is crucial to success. What: my talks are based on the adventures of extreme mountaineers and my own experience to propose risk management solutions applicable in business. How: I combine a unique dual experience as an amateur mountaineer and a professional manager. I nearly died in a mountaineering accident and drew from that experience a book, 'Between Life and the Void', on managing fear. At the same time, I have 13 years of experience within executive committees of entities generating several billion euros in revenue.
