Deborah Pardo
Scientist, Entrepreneur, Polar Explorer
Deborah PARDO holds a PhD in ecology with 8 years of experience in prestigious international research institutes. She is a global expert on albatrosses, which she has studied multiple times during missions in the Southern Ocean, modeling the catastrophic impact of human activities on them. In 2017, she was named one of the “Top 20 Innovative Women” by La Tribune after being the first French woman on the largest all-female expedition in history to Antarctica, which trained 78 scientists in leadership to save the Planet. She left her academic career to co-found and currently lead the Earthship Sisters association and the Earthship Generations company, awarded “Responsible Company” in 2021 by Elles, Les Audacieuses. These two organizations develop the leadership of women entrepreneurs and organizations to take concrete action for the environment, through transformative experiences connected to nature, enhanced by femininity and the power of the collective. Deborah joyfully juggles scientific consulting, polar expeditions, and being the mother of Nathan, 6, and Gaia, 3, while the Earthship movement grows exponentially. She regularly gives inspiring talks to help understand the challenges related to biodiversity and rethink the roles of men and women in the upcoming transitions, while remaining optimistic!
