Knowing-Innovate, the innovation attitude to adapt to the changing world
What if 2023 was one of the best years of your life? Of course, the world is changing, uncertainty and complexity are everywhere... but new possibilities and opportunities are also available for those who know how to seize them! It is this contrast between the optimism of innovators and the widespread defeatism in the face of a changing world that fuels my conferences as well as my book, where I have combined my two areas of expertise: innovation (at Orange and L'Oréal) and personal development (over 1000 hours of coaching for Innovation Blossom, the firm I founded 10 years ago). To tackle the four major civilizational challenges, I propose to mobilize and develop an intelligence and soft skills that are adapted. In response to the challenge of knowledge with AI, data... comes self-knowledge and emotional intelligence; being able to distance oneself from emotions, particularly fear, to clarify one's objectives. In response to the challenge of disruption with digital platformization, ecological transition, space conquest... comes creative intelligence; provoking one's flow to unleash creativity and be able to project oneself into the future, for example in jobs that do not yet exist. In response to the challenge of uncertainty, in the VUCA world (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous)... comes the intelligence of paradoxes; being able to reconcile opposites, to do more with less, to adapt continuously. In response to the challenge of meaning, which the Covid crisis has accelerated the necessity of, in one's work, life... comes responsible intelligence and collective intelligence; being able to act with full awareness for oneself and with others. The associated soft skills of analysis, creativity, perseverance, courage, agility, collaboration... are illustrated with examples and vivid, concrete testimonies. A breeze of optimism and positive projection blows with 'knowing-innovate' in this conference!
Post-Covid, Innovation on All Fronts
The Covid crisis has accelerated the transformation of the world. We are witnessing a change in civilization. Those who will survive the $12 trillion cost of the virus are those who can adapt. Innovation is no longer an option. For the recovery in K (Wall Street August 2020), and to be on the side of the upward arrow, innovating must become second nature, following the model of Big Tech and CAC 40 companies that were able to grow their revenue during the crisis. The fundamentals of innovation—stages, governance, mix, culture, timelines, budgets—must be reviewed with a fresh perspective. The new leader must be able to integrate exemplary soft skills of innovation to ride the wave of the VUCA world. As for the demands of the new generations and consumers of the New World, they inevitably lead towards responsible innovation. Passionate about innovation and having experienced several disruptions in Research at Orange and L'Oréal, I see this period as a fascinating moment in our history and I analyze the "dysfunctions" to make them "fertile" to follow the inspiring model of Elon Musk. I have already given this talk twice to high-level participants: administrators and members of the Lyon Bourse Pole and for the partners and clients of Grant Thornton France, a leader in audit and consulting.
"Knowing-Innovate" the Leader's Skill for the New World (animation)
This animation can complement the conference of the same title dedicated to leaders, members of the executive committee, and direct teams. In this world where the new normal is to be able to develop one's adaptability skills and create in the unknown, leaders must be exemplary to lead teams through transformation. Innovation has become a full-fledged skill, the new way of being to develop: "knowing how to innovate." I propose three possible animations: -half-day format: test on the typical Foursights innovator profile, with a conference opening (talk of the same title), discovery of each person's profile, and an exercise to experience the profile. -MBTI day format to trigger awareness of diversity and the importance of developing self-awareness and the awareness of others, as well as paradoxical communication. The opening conference (talk of the same title) will be followed by discoveries of innovator types and exercises in homogeneous and heterogeneous groups that allow participants to "experience" diversity. -2-day seminar format to create awareness of the rights and duties of Codir members in the New World based on an analysis of the threats and opportunities of the VUCA World. The second step is to co-create solutions to adapt the company and engage all employees. The conference and animation are entirely led by Sylvie Brémond Mookherjee, an expert in facilitating Codirs and innovation teams.
"Knowing-How-to-Innovate" the Leader's Skill for the New World
In today's world, it has become impossible not to innovate. Adapting and transforming has become the "new normal". This conference, aimed at leaders and executive committees facing the transformation of their company, will provide the keys to new leadership to succeed in the VUCA world (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous) brought about by the explosion of Digital and accelerated by the Covid-19 Crisis. Innovation has become key, and everyone must get involved. For leaders, innovation has become a skill in its own right, a new way of being to develop "knowing how to innovate". To achieve this, it is essential to place people at the heart of the innovation strategy and to develop emotional intelligence and soft skills suited to this new world. But how to approach it concretely? This is what I address through the steps of the innovation process from strategy to project implementation, including cultural transformation. It is a conference illustrated with concrete examples that aims to be inspiring for leaders, convincing that everyone in an executive committee can find their place to innovate. It can launch a transformation program and be accompanied by team-building workshops on leadership, innovation, and emotional intelligence for the executive committee and its teams.
Innovation: The Solution for Your Transformation (Animation)
This half-day animation is intended for executive committees, managers, and project leaders, whether operational or functional. Its purpose is to raise awareness that innovation through a "problem-solving" culture enables transformation. It also highlights that everyone has a role to play in innovation according to the types of innovation and the stages of the process. It is a three-part animation consisting of: - an opening conference (see associated talk) - a test on "what is your innovator profile?" Foursights(c) (purchase fees in addition to animation fees) - a situational exercise of the profiles identified in the test to experience a successful collective intelligence experience Participants leave with their personalized profile and the identification of their preferred place in terms of innovation, along with a method they can apply in their teams. This half-day session is personally led by Sylvie Brémond Mookherjee, who has already tested it in numerous companies of all sizes with extremely positive feedback.
Innovation, the Solution for Your Transformation
During this conference aimed at managers and project leaders (functional or operational) facing the transformation of their teams, I present my two convictions regarding how to survive the crisis we are going through and the transformations that need to be undertaken. First of all, only innovation will allow us to adapt thanks to the "problem-solving" mindset it helps to develop. I present very concretely the 4 key steps to solve an innovation problem through CPS "Creative Problem Solving". This proven method is easy to remember and apply and will now be part of the toolbox for your managers and project leaders. Secondly, I address how to implement this culture of creativity, particularly focusing on the development of emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and awareness of others to be able to convince and lead projects in a spirit of collaborative intelligence. The goal is to show that everyone has a place in innovation and that with practice, everyone can become innovative! This resolutely positive conference, illustrated with concrete cases, is designed to inspire and convince. It can also serve as a starting point for a specific problem-solving approach through comprehensive support with co-construction workshops and personalized coaching follow-up.
Innovating for Fashion ... Adapting Professions to Fast Fashion
Fashion is the ultimate place for innovation. Incremental with its trends and collections but also disruptive by shaking up the codes. Disruptive innovation, once the exclusive domain of luxury, is now opening up to ready-to-wear thanks to new possibilities offered by Digital and Artificial Intelligence. Time is accelerating, and we are witnessing the rise of 'Fast Fashion'. For Innovation Blossom, innovation is about nurturing talents, developing intelligence alongside artificial intelligence. Thus, fashion is an exciting field of application. Indeed, like all sectors, fashion must adapt to a changing world. But more than any other sector, being at the forefront of trends, it is hit hard by digital with the advantages and constraints of 'unified commerce' and the 'eco-friendly' wave. Therefore, fashion professions must evolve or even mutate. I want to share my vision of the challenges for the three professions through the three I's to develop ... and especially new professions to invent. Last conference on the subject on November 8, 2019, for Paris Fashion Shops Day on the theme 'Innovating for Fashion'. Creativity to "Shatter the Glass Ceiling"
I intervene as an expert for the PPV Program "Shatter the Glass Ceiling" aimed at women who wish to create a real level change in their careers and lives. I was fortunate to be made aware of female leadership early in my career, having had the chance to be a leader at under 40 at Orange and then recruited by L'Oréal to transform their innovation (www.sylviebremond.com). I founded a Women's Club for Innovation, Pink Innov (http://www.sylviebremond.com/2017/05/02/pink-innov-reseau-femmes-observatoire-partage-best-practices/), and today through my firm Innovation Blossom (www.innovationblossom.com), I share the best practices I have experienced myself and while supporting many women in their personal development to boost their lives! Creativity plays a crucial role, so I offer a conference as well as a workshop for an individual experience and individual and collective transformation of female leadership. Available for intra- and inter-company sessions.
Leadership for disruption
I am an executive coach and lecturer. Today, I share, in the cabinet that I founded "Innovation Blossom", my 25 years as a top leader and executive in large and innovative companies and my experience of more than a dozen radical transformations at France Telecom Orange (Cnet, FTR&D, OrangeLab, Orange Gardens, and Technocentre creation...) then the launch of the "digital revolution" at L'Oréal R&I. Today I speak as an evangelist of the necessity to change the cultural way of companies (small or large, it's only a size effect!) to take advantage of the Digital and transform threat into opportunity. Innovation is a key leverage to adapt systems and people. Incremental innovation allows adaptation, but disruptive innovation allows making the difference and creating new values. And we now know that technological innovation is disruptive! To be adapted to disruptive innovation, all employees have to change their way of being in the company; it supposes to develop the right part of the brain, emotional intelligence due to the need to develop new behaviors such as openness, agility, transversality... It is a new challenge for managers; they have to turn their "hierarchical power status" into "influential leadership", and even more with the new generations. What are the keys to success? You'll find them in my speech! I give conferences for companies like Orange, Total, BNP Paribas Wealth Management, Crédit Agricole, CNP Assurances, Sham Assurances... and I give courses in "Management of Innovation" at La Sorbonne Master 2 "Innovation and Management of Technologies" and for the Executive MBA of Paritech Les Mines on "Leadership Development for Disruption".
Solving Problems Through Creativity
"Every problem is an opportunity"... how to use creativity (CPS method, Creative Problem Solving) to find solutions and engage teams on these solutions. Knowing how to "diverge" and "converge" to solve problems through creativity. Sylvie Brémond Mookherjee offers a "practical" conference aimed at managers looking to solve transformation issues, organizational evolutions, and change team dynamics. She shares through this conference her experience as a leader with 25 years at Orange and L'Oréal as HR Director, where she led more than a dozen successful transformations. Today, within the firm she founded, Innovation Blossom, she shares her expertise by supporting companies like Orange, Total, BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole in their digital transformation... and by publishing works (the latest being "Innovation, the Manager and Developing Creativity"), articles (the Innovation column of the DRH&M Review), and on her blog www.sylviebremond.com
Innovation Needs All Talents!
A workshop-conference to understand your innovator profile and identify your creative preferences to work better in teams or projects. Sylvie Brémond Mookherjee offers a workshop-conference based on her convictions and her 25 years of experience as a leader at Orange and L'Oréal, where she led transformations through innovation as HR Director. She proposes a workshop (administering a questionnaire during the session) and a conference that allows understanding that innovation is not the exclusive domain of a few innovation professionals, but that everyone can contribute to innovation. Each profile corresponds to a stage of innovation... and innovation needs all these stages, thus everyone in the company. An insight that empowers managers regarding their role as facilitators in the company and project leaders to form diverse and complementary project teams. Note: the questionnaire is based on the Foursights© method; it allows identifying 4 main profiles. Those who take this simple test in a few minutes can find out if they are more of a 'clarifier' who tends to analyze a problem, or an 'ideator' who will favor idea generation, a 'developer' who seeks 'solutions', and a 'realizer' who focuses on 'action'. It is also possible to combine these different preferences, and the ideal is to cover all 4 to be a complete innovator! A workshop conference that truly develops collective intelligence and the role of managers.
Creativity, the Manager's Role in Developing It!
Understanding creativity to adopt it and have the desire to develop one's potential for innovation and that of one's teams. A conference proposed by Sylvie Brémond Mookherjee based on her 25 years of experience at Orange and L'Oréal, where she supported the development of innovation skills as HR and Communication Director. Today, through her firm Innovation Blossom, she shares her knowledge by assisting companies like Orange, Total, BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole in their transformations... Summary: Once the domain reserved for innovation professionals, creativity has entered the company through invention in R&D and brainstorming for new products and marketing advertising. Like Steve Jobs, for whom 'innovation is a burning passion,' today, innovating has become a skill that every employee must develop to enhance their interpersonal skills and contribution to the company's performance. Being creative is a proof of agility, commitment, initiative... All attitudes that may be natural for some but very unusual for others... and managers have a role to play! What is it? This is the subject of this conference!
Creativity, a Key for Every Step of Transformation
"Creativity is intelligence having fun," Einstein liked to say. It is easy to imagine that associating intelligence and fun can only be positive, allowing us to tackle the most arduous tasks. Transformation, whether individual or collective, is precisely one of those tasks, and it is a real puzzle for managers today. A conference of the type "Transformation for Dummies" aimed at all those who discover that transformation is now part of the manager's job or who are aware of it but do not know where to start! Creativity plays a guiding role in a systemic analysis of the actors: - early adopters, creativity to help them move forward, - the undecided, creativity to convince them through co-creation of solutions, - the resistant, creativity to limit inertia and toxic buzz. This conference revisits the themes dear to Sylvie Brémond Mookherjee, which she has developed over her 25 years as a leader at Orange and L'Oréal, where she led about ten major transformations as HR Director. She shares them today through her firm Innovation Blossom, which supports the digital transformation of companies such as Orange, Total, BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole...) and her publications: her latest book "How to Boost Innovation through Creativity" and her columns on Innovation in the DRH&M Review, which you can find on her blog www.sylviebremond.com.
Succeeding in Transformation through Innovation
This conference created for "Les Echos" in a multi-company format is offered here in an intra-company setting. Sylvie Brémond Mookherjee shares during this conference the methods she has developed based on her 25 years of experience at Orange and L'Oréal, where she experienced major technological transformations by successfully leading managerial transformation projects through innovation and collaboration. Beliefs ("the only knowledge that can influence an individual's behavior is that which he discovers for himself and appropriates" Carl Rogers) that find their application in concrete examples of successful transformation "best practices" in large global companies. This conference can serve as an introduction to co-construction workshops that Sylvie Brémond Mookherjee facilitates (Creative Problem Solving, Innovation games, collective coaching...depending on the case)
Health 4.0 ...digital as a lever for innovation
In the face of the massive arrival of NBIC, the healthcare sector is undergoing a major transformation. All stakeholders in the care system are impacted by medicine 4.0, with the threats and opportunities of the 'augmented man'.
Will artificial intelligence kill trainers?
After the rise of e-learning, the next wave of transformation in training is that of artificial intelligence. With the massive and rapid development of NBIC (Nano, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and cognitive sciences), the role of trainers is set to be questioned and repositioned on its true added value, the relationship with the learner. Topics covered: big data, robots, artificial empathy, new forms of pedagogy and relationships. This conference can serve as a general awareness of the need for change but can also introduce creativity workshops to imagine the training of tomorrow. Sylvie Brémond Mookherjee shares her passion for innovation and her experience as a leader in HR and Innovation (Orange and L'Oréal) through the Innovation Blossom firm she founded 5 years ago, which now counts references such as Total, BNP, CNP, Crédit Agricole, Groupe Leclerc, Orange, Caisse des Dépôts, INPI... Her conferences are tailored to each company to create a close impact with the audience. She teaches Innovation Management at Sorbonne in the Master's program "Innovation and Technology Management" and writes the Innovation column for the DRHM Review.
