Managers: You Are Indispensable, Whether We Like It or Not!
To all the MANAGERS who are accused of all the ILLS. • of discomfort at work. • of lack of results. • of Burnout • of absenteeism you are indispensable, believe me, you are indispensable. Companies • lack desperately for people who want to invest in management. • are struggling to recruit managers. • are struggling to retain their managers. So go ahead, dive in, take your full part in the company. We need you. • I do not promise you management advice, there are training courses for that. • I do not promise you advice for your teams to feel better. It will come naturally thanks to you. • But just a conference full of emotions, laughter, and especially keys to use immediately in your personal and professional life. 3 keys for you and only you for once. 3 keys to make a BODY. - Communicate to feel good between the hammer and the anvil, - Put things into perspective to not give up under pressure. - Stay positive to move forward with the workload. Why? because I was a branch manager and managed 50 people including managers. I know the issues faced by managers and those managed. I am now an active retiree as a self-employed trainer and speaker. My goal is clear: to give momentum back to the women and men who keep the company alive. And this momentum starts with you, managers, the true engines of the collective. Because overcoming the "every man for himself" starts with leaders who fully take their place. BODY-accords, it’s now.
Acting, even when nothing is perfect
It all starts with a step. September 2014. Washington. I slowly climb the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. I am enchanted by this place. When I reach the top, I turn around and there, Eyes closed, yes, closed. I was seeing that crowd again. That immense crowd that was there during Pastor Martin Luther King's speech when he uttered that famous phrase: I have a dream. At that moment, when I reopened my eyes, I knew my life was about to change. I have a dream! Yes, at that precise moment, I had just discovered that I too had a dream. I too that day, had a dream. — He dreamed of justice and equality. — Me? I simply dreamed that everyone could: • Live well.( • Understand each other well, • Flourish well.) The good living in everyday life! The basics, right! Not happiness, not well-being, but good living. (I know: I aim high too.) You might say to me: 'But who are you to have such dreams?' Excellent question! My name is Sylvie As a child, I was... small. As a teenager? I was still small. As an adult? It didn't get better. One meter fifty. In groups, I was quickly spotted: I was the only one you couldn't see. The one everyone was looking for. " but where is Sylvie? " At the hairdresser, they always offer me a cushion to raise me in the chair to wash my hair. ( of course, it’s not done discreetly) On top of that, at 17 — the age of the baccalaureate — I had to follow my parents to Africa. My father was transferred to Nigeria to oversee the construction of the highway network. I should have studied. But between sun, pool, and change of scenery... I mostly enjoyed. Result? Zero diploma. But what a tan! I looked for work, but it wasn't easy without a diploma. I could have gotten discouraged. I could have told myself: "It's over." But something inside me screamed "NO " I rolled up my sleeves. I had to knock on 100 doors before the 101st opened. But my perseverance and audacity paid off. I started by sorting files 40 hours a week. I was unbeatable on the alphabetical order of last names. I worked. Twice as hard. Twice as long. And from challenge to challenge, from failure to learning. I became an agency director. Where no one expected me. When I say: no one, it was no one! Neither the hierarchy 10 years earlier, nor the colleagues who laughed at me and my ambitions. In the end, I managed 50 people. For years. Of course, it wasn't easy, I went through 40 years of doubts, transformations, misunderstandings. And upon my departure, the teams gave me a large card. On it, two words: "Indestructible Sylvie". Their way of saying: BRAVO. Throughout these years. Whether at work or in everyday life, I have seen conflicts, tensions, and more precisely people who had difficult human relationships. , people who no longer knew how to live well — with themselves, with others. But I knew something precious: the optimism of action. This force that transforms intention into action. This legendary optimism helped me. It helped me believe in myself and take action. This optimism I speak of, we all have it within us, but we must know how to exploit it. And it was in Washington that everything crystallized. That I understood that good living is not learned. It is felt, it is lived, it is transmitted. That's what I want to share with you today. Not a theory. Not a moral. Just 3 keys. Simple. Concrete. 3 keys to live well —.( • Understand each other well, • Flourish well.) with oneself, with others. Keys that I have tested, lived, and proven. Keys that transformed "the little one you couldn't see"... into the one you never forget. And as a gift, a combo that I will deliver to you. So if you leave with a smile, a single idea, a trigger. Or even just a phrase that follows you home. Then that day, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, my dream of a little girl who became big will have taken on all its meaning. So trust yourself, and go for it.
Well-being to Recreate the Dynamic.
The recovery is now, and let's not kid ourselves, it's not going to be easy. So, how do we succeed? Well, it starts with taking care of our psychological health both individually and collectively that we will succeed. So, to live well and move forward, I propose to share my experience with you. In 1976, I was 17 years old, my father was transferred to Africa, specifically Nigeria, and I had to follow him with my mother and 2 of my brothers. That year will forever mark the rest of my life, just like this global crisis we are currently experiencing that will disrupt the emotions of many of us. I spent many years interested in the human being. Understanding and learning the mechanisms behind our body. Those that dictate our thoughts as well as our actions. I developed expertise in communication psychology and emotional intelligence. Can we live well the return to the workplace, interpersonal relationships, and relationships with clients?…… Can we take a step back from situations that ruin our lives? Yes! I will share with you keys and an unforgettable key to help you achieve this. This talk will be atypical and innovative. It will engrave concepts of reflection in memory. You will find humor, emotions, and metaphors. You will leave with keys and a memorable key. My conclusion will be motivating and inspiring optimism. It will make you want to act without delay.
