Christine Delmar
SPEAKER AND TRAINER IN HAPPINESS AT WORK
HAPPINESS AWAITS YOU After accompanying a young man suffering from cancer until his last breath in India, Christine Delmar created the coaching method Happiness Awaits You, which is aimed at individuals as well as employees. Convinced that we are on Earth to be happy, Christine Delmar teaches the foundations of happiness, which are inner peace and the power of joy. Christine Delmar speaks at conferences, training sessions, and coaching. In response to the statistics on suffering at work (anxiety, burnout, boreout, disengagement,...), Christine Delmar created, in 2024, an introspective card game: BOOST HAPPINESS AT WORK. It poses 42 questions on 7 themes: Emotion, Relaxation, Motivation, Collaboration, Contribution, Realization, Satisfaction. Christine Delmar leads HAPPINESS AT WORK workshops in companies and networks. For more info: www.boostezlebonheurautravail.com WHO IS CHRISTINE DELMAR? Initiated by great yogic, zen, and chan masters to meditation, she created 50 meditations to better navigate the lockdowns due to COVID (available on her YouTube channel) and 9 meditations aimed at women (available on the Namatata website). For over 20 years, Christine Delmar has practiced Qi Gong and Kiryuho, respectively Chinese and Japanese energy arts. She has undertaken numerous spiritual retreats and is passionate about the indigenous peoples of North America, primarily the Sioux-Lakota.

Mindfulness Meditation in the Service of Business
The benefits of meditation have been proven by numerous scientific studies: reduction of stress, anxiety, and hypertension, decrease in depressive symptoms, better pain management, regulation of the immune system, slowing down aging,... In a world of performance, hyper-digital connection, frantic pace, and thus intense stress, meditation presents itself as a solution to avoid burnout, depression, and addictive behaviors. Meditation leads to a step back from the situations and emotions we go through. Very concretely, meditation allows, for example, to approach difficult conversations, to present projects with confidence, to dare to defend one's opinions, to maintain composure, to resist pressure, etc. Its regular practice allows for greater self-awareness and understanding of others (hence a decrease in conflicts and compassionate leadership), develops concentration and creativity, instills inner calm, reduces stress, and clarifies vision. It can be practiced in the workplace in the form of meditative breaks, walking meditation, active or seated meditation. I have been practicing meditation for several years. I was initiated by great Masters in Indian, Chan, and Zen meditation. Additionally, I was trained at the Plum Village of Thich Nhat Hanh in Mindfulness for compassionate leaders. From experience, I know that meditation is extremely effective for going through difficult times, managing emotions, and developing joy in daily life. At the end of 2018, I will open in Provence La Demeure Intérieure, a secular spiritual retreat center that will offer several forms of meditation. The method 'Happiness Awaits You' that I created also includes guided meditation exercises to enhance one's capacity for happiness.
How Asian Spirituality Can Help Western Businesses
The major precepts of Eastern spirituality (impermanence, non-duality, letting go, the law of cause and effect, mindfulness, compassion, non-attachment, etc.) have now spread to the general public. When applied to the business world, they allow for an understanding of the cycles of life, the establishment of responsible and caring human relationships, stress management, and the development of a civic ethic. Thus, the company becomes a moral entity, in both senses of the term. Practicing Japanese and Chinese martial and energy arts for over fifteen years, initiated into Indian, Chan, and Zen meditation by Masters, I am passionate about Eastern spiritualities. After completing several retreats in monasteries in France and abroad, I will open, at the end of 2018, in Provence, La Demeure Intérieure, a secular spiritual retreat center. The method 'Happiness Awaits You' that I created incorporates these Asian concepts that allow individuals to develop kindness towards themselves and others, to flow smoothly with the movement of life, to gain wisdom, and to find joy in daily life.
PRINCESS / KNIGHT or how fairy tales continue to dictate our lives
The tales of our childhood, filled with gender stereotypes, have shaped our unconscious: Princesses are kind, helpful, beautiful,... and wait to be saved by their charming prince (instead of fighting against adversity, asserting their rights, and taking their destiny into their own hands); knights are solitary heroes, strong and courageous, saviors (who do not know collaboration and make the great divide between their vulnerability and the injunction to perform). In adulthood, unknowingly, we continue to play the roles of princesses and knights. Based particularly on the books by Colette Dowling "The Cinderella Complex", Nancy Huston "Be Beautiful/Be Strong", and Bruno Bettelheim "The Uses of Enchantment", I analyze the stereotypical images of fairy tales and their impact on our gendered attitudes before deconstructing them symbolically. I have given this talk at the Spring of Optimism and training sessions on this topic as part of Happy Happening and at Groupama. The feedback has been very positive: the awareness is strong and liberating. Participants finally dare to leave established roles to be themselves, embracing their yin & yang characteristics (regardless of gender), their power as well as their kindness.
What if we learned to be happy at work?
Happiness and performance go hand in hand. I explain, with supporting data, why companies should care about happiness at work and how employees can develop a positive attitude daily and reduce stress, a true poison for health, performance, and happiness. Happiness is a choice, it can be learned and practiced! That’s why I give lectures and training sessions (mixing intellect, imagination, emotional aspects, and energy) on happiness. The method 'Happiness Awaits You' that I created for the general public and companies is the result of 30 years of professional experience and personal and spiritual development. Is there anything better to do on Earth than to be happy?!?
