Guillaume François
Nature photographer, author, and speaker – Immersion in the wild world, field storytelling, and preservation of life.
Guillaume François was born in 1993 in Lons-le-Saunier. A naturalist, wildlife photographer, author, and speaker, he has dedicated a significant part of his life for over twenty years to closely observing life, with particular attention to the Eurasian lynx and the forests of the Jura massif. Since adolescence, he has developed an intimate relationship with the wild world and chose photography as a means to testify to the beauty, fragility, and richness of life. His work is based on long-term immersion, a sensitive approach to the field, and the search for authentic moments, never interrupting the life unfolding before him. Author of several works, he published Jura au fil du temps in 2014 and then Sentinelle in 2017. In 2024, À pas feutrés will be released, prefaced by Hugo Clément, recounting over twenty years of fieldwork and more than 3000 days spent on the lookout for free and wild nature. He also created the film Plaidoyer pour la nature, both a cry of alarm and a declaration of love for the living world. With Amélie Sabanovic, a naturalist and watercolorist, he co-founded the association Je suis sensible in 2022, which carries out concrete actions for the preservation of wild species and their habitats. Together, they use art as a tool for wonder and engagement for life. His photographic work has been awarded in several national and international competitions, including Wildlife Photographer of the Year, National Geographic, BioPhoto Contest, and Photographer of the Year. Today, Guillaume shares his field experience through immersive conferences where observation stories, photographs, and reflections on our relationship with life intertwine. His sensitive approach invites everyone to slow down, observe differently, and find a more humble place within the natural world.

In Soft Steps
It all begins at the edge of a forest that saw him grow up. In a silence filled with enchantment, Guillaume explores, since his childhood, a free and wild world that he approaches with uniqueness and authenticity. Closest to life in its purest form, a universe of fragile beauty anchors the naturalist's dreams in wonder. Behind the foliage of dreams, a totem, a rare animal, almost invisible, guides his steps, to the heart of an intimate quest of over 3000 days on the lookout: the rare and discreet Eurasian Lynx. A story lived in soft steps, where the dream of a wild encounter opens the soul and the gaze on a world that calls our origins to learn to see, to feel, and to protect.
