Conference #1

The Empathic Distance: Between Clarity and Empathy in Times of Crisis

In crisis situations, the balance between empathy and clarity becomes vital. Too much emotion clouds decision-making. Too much distance dehumanizes action. Between the two lies a powerful stance: the empathic distance. With over 25 years of experience in the most extreme environments – earthquakes, tsunamis, wildfires, attacks, wars – Vincent Boichard shares a proven method to act with clarity without losing the human connection. Through authentic and impactful stories, he explores the levers of conscious and deeply human leadership: - How to remain clear-headed when emotion overwhelms you? - How to show empathy without exposing yourself to collapse? - How to engage your teams with accuracy and realism? A powerful conference, a method rooted in field experience, for all those who lead, support, and decide… when everything is in turmoil.

Conference #2

Leadership in Crisis Situations

For over two decades, I have held leadership responsibilities at the heart of the worst humanitarian and natural crises: tsunamis in Japan and Indonesia, earthquakes in Haiti, Algeria, and Ecuador, cyclones in the Caribbean, wildfires, storms, armed conflicts… These extreme environments leave little room for improvisation. They reveal, sometimes brutally, what true leadership is. I have experienced moments of rare intensity: rescuing eight buried alive in Algeria, finding a victim after 15 days under the rubble in Haiti, or having to land a helicopter urgently in the midst of flames. These experiences taught me that, in the face of chaos, what saves is rigorous preparation, a clear understanding of one’s limits, and above all, the ability to unite others in action. During this conference, I propose a deep dive into leadership in crisis contexts: - How to make decisions in uncertainty and under pressure? - How to maintain cohesion and trust in adversity? - What role do emotions, doubt, and the leader's clarity play? - And above all: how to transform a team into a resilient and responsive collective? An inspiring conference, rooted in reality, for all those who have to decide, act, and lead others when everything is shaking.

Conference #3

The Strength of the Collective in the Face of Uncertainty

For over 20 years, I have provided aid to populations at the heart of the greatest disasters of our time: tsunamis in Japan and Indonesia, earthquakes in Algeria, Haiti, and Ecuador, cyclones in the Caribbean, forest fires for over ten years, civil war in Sri Lanka, deadly storms… These missions have confronted me with the extreme – where humanity, solidarity, and clarity make all the difference. I have experienced "extraordinary" moments of very high emotional intensity: finding a living victim 15 days after the earthquake in Haiti, rescuing eight people buried in Algeria, or urgently landing a helicopter in a forest fire after skimming the treetops. In these contexts, only the quality of preparation, awareness of one's limits – and those of one's team – allows one to endure. In this conference, I will share with you what these experiences have taught me: ➡ The role of the leader in the face of uncertainty ➡ The strength of collective intelligence in unstable environments ➡ Managing stress and emotions in extreme situations ➡ The courage to decide… and to own one's doubts An authentic testimony, concrete lessons, and an immersion into what it truly means to face challenges together.
