Expert in disability & diversity

speaker-picture

Available to support you in your Diversity and Inclusion policies: training, conferences, consulting, mediation, etc. Blind from birth, I am one of the few graduates of a prestigious engineering school with a disability. This difference has always been a strength: I am often described as "a relentless optimist." As an entrepreneur, association leader, and local elected official, I have one mission: to convey my sense of others.

Accessibility Rhymes with Society

An increasing number of humans live in cities. Families are atomizing, solidarities are diminishing, and loneliness is gaining ground every day in an aging population. The city, designed for healthy active individuals, becomes anxiety-inducing for entire segments of its inhabitants. I will use disability as a common thread to outline the city of tomorrow, the city where everyone finds their place in complete autonomy. Objectives and stakes: - Discover tools and methods of participatory democracy - Understand the legal framework of local democracy - Reflect on avenues for better local governance Indicative format: - One day of training - Alternation of theoretical inputs and practical cases: 6 cases can be studied (each requiring a 15-minute presentation and treatment in 20 to 30 minutes)

Conference #2

Acting for Everyone and with Everyone: Collective Intelligence

Former Deputy Mayor of Paris, I have already experienced numerous systems promoting the participation of the greatest number: I have tested their potential and limitations. I will share my experience with you and indicate, depending on what you expect from it, the best way to optimize information, consultation, deliberation, or collaboration with your target. Objectives and stakes: - Discover the tools and methods of participatory democracy - Understand the legal framework of local democracy - Reflect on avenues for better local governance Indicative format: - One day of training - Alternation of theoretical contributions and practical cases: 6 cases can be studied (each requiring a 15-minute presentation and treatment in 20 to 30 minutes)

Conference #3

First Steps in Unknown Land

Migrants live better than retirees, France is overwhelmed by immigration, Immigrants are all poor and unqualified, Immigrants are raised on social aid... These are all prejudices that facts contradict, yet public opinion holds them as true. I will show you that despite the difficulties of integration, prejudices, and a shared history not yet fully purged, France is rejuvenated by migrants. Determined to seize their chance, not deprived of everything, they are, like their elders, formidable ambassadors of a unique model in the world: the universal French model. Objectives and stakes: - Fight against prejudices - Promote intercultural dialogue within the organization - Understand the situation of migrants Indicative format: - 30 minutes of presentation followed by one hour of questions/answers (or 50 minutes of presentation and 40 minutes of questions/answers) - Possibility of practical exercises.

Conference #4

Diversity in the Workplace: Myth or Reality?

As a diversity manager, I will demonstrate that companies adhere to mathematical laws and that here too, less by less equals more. I will share experiences from international companies and explain how to introduce intercultural dialogue into your organization and how to develop a management policy without discrimination. Objectives and stakes: - Combat prejudices - Reflect on the integration policy of your organization - Raise awareness of intercultural issues in the workplace Indicative format: - 30 minutes of presentation followed by one hour of Q&A (or 50 minutes of presentation and 40 minutes of Q&A) - Possibility of practical exercises

Conference #5

Disability, a Value for the Future

One is not born disabled; one becomes so! From now on, three out of four disability situations will occur during life, and one in two during a professional career. Through my journey and that of identifying figures, I will tell you how to transform a disabled person into a mobile research center and take you through the fabulous history of inventions that were generated by disability. I invite you to become, like me, 'lazy able-bodied,' meaning able-bodied individuals who choose when it suits them to give meaning to rest in order to better savor other experiences. From there, we can draw proposals for innovations likely to improve the human resource management of your company. Objectives and stakes: - Engage employees - Fight against discrimination - Reflect on the disability policy of your organization Indicative format: - 30 minutes of presentation followed by one hour of Q&A (or 50 minutes, then 40 minutes) - Possibility of practical exercises alternating between situations of disability and professional vulnerability.

Conference #6

Innovating through Disability: When Weakness Becomes Strength

If you had been told that a blind person could be a trader, a politician, and a camp counselor in charge of sighted children, you would not have believed it. If a quadriplegic swims across the sea, if a paraplegic performs acrobatics, and if these three audacious individuals proclaim themselves ordinary, it is because they have drawn from their accident-prone lives resources available in each of you. By relying on my journey and that of identifying figures, I help you analyze your ability to mobilize unexpected springs: it will show you how and why, in a world where no one can remain in their comfort zone, weakness can transform into strength and overcome the biggest obstacles. Objectives and stakes: - Raise awareness among collaborators - Fight against discrimination in your organization - Share experiences and best practices Indicative format: - 30 minutes of presentation followed by an hour of questions/answers (or 50 minutes, then 40 minutes) - Possibility of practical exercises alternating between situations of disability and professional vulnerability.
