Laplane Vivien
Speaker and author
I was born deaf; it’s incidental, well, almost. I am a specialized educator, speaker, and author. I am passionate about writing and theater, which open many doors for me to better communicate and express myself. In my forties, I have been involved in theater for 20 years with companies from Avignon, Brignais, and Lyon. What do I propose to you? A conference, certainly, but theatricalized, where you will find humor, an offbeat tone to bring multiple perspectives on deafness. How to simply welcome a person with a disability? What solutions are considered to adapt the position? Answers approached differently! A presentation to include in your awareness programs: For companies or other types of structures (Associations, universities, schools, local authorities...) After each conference, a fun workshop takes place with the audience, in small groups and then in plenary. It’s a time where each person can express themselves according to their needs. Mini-sketches addressing the recognition of the disabled worker. Such as the different types of deafness, possible adjustments to welcome a deaf person. Then means of communication like French sign language, spoken French complemented. Basically, how to talk to a deaf person? And finally, what are the benefits for the company to become accessible?
