Mathilde Cabanis
Speaker and Trainer on Disability and Caregiving in the Workplace
As a mother of three children, including a little girl with an invisible disability, an entrepreneur, and someone living with a disability due to a stroke in Nepal, I juggle these multiple roles daily. Optimistic and dynamic, I always intervene with a smile and a touch of provocation to raise awareness among organizations about the consideration of disability at work and the role of family caregivers in the workplace. My ambition for the past 10 years has been to promote the professional integration of people with disabilities and to make it clear that disability or caregiving should not be a barrier to a professional life. Whether in associations or companies, my commitment over the years has allowed me to understand various topics: recruitment, training, awareness, the impact of caregiving, and job retention; among a diverse audience: students, teachers, employees, managers, disability referents, HR.

Family Caregivers: What Place in the Workplace?
11 million family caregivers in France in 2022, which is 1 in 5 employees. By 2030, this will represent 1 in 4 employees, or 25%. We are many. I say we, because since my daughter's liver transplant, I too am a family caregiver. I have discovered the administrative burdens, the daily exhaustion, the stress of the situation, and the even heavier mental load. After 2 years of a life on hold, I said stop and decided to stop enduring this role that I now embrace with love. Taking time for oneself, breathing, decompressing, being able to work, stepping out of the sometimes heavy daily routine, every caregiver should have the chance to take this time to feel better in their role. This conference is aimed at companies that wish to raise awareness about the situation of employee caregivers. It addresses the balance between professional responsibilities and caring for loved ones, offering strategies to support those affected and better integrate them into teams. The goal is to encourage an empathetic and inclusive corporate culture, recognizing the unique challenges faced by caregivers. “Thank you for this intervention Mathilde, which was greatly appreciated.” Brimbelle, Director of Diversity and Inclusion Disneyland Paris
