Noe Pottier
Double World Champion in Skydiving I Winner of the World Cup I European Champion I Speaker
Noé Pottier is from the island of La Réunion, a high-level athlete in artistic skydiving. He started jumping at the age of 15 and has never stopped! While it was curiosity sprinkled with chance that led him to discover the sky, it is passion that, 15 years later, allows him to remain there with such enthusiasm. To pay for his flight hours and jumps, he began working at 17 to do all sorts of odd jobs: waiter in London, painter, factory worker... and reinvested all his salary to progress. He became very good at his practice yet did not break through: he was self-centered. Until the day he understood the importance of sincerity in encounters, cooperation, and shared pleasure. He committed to developing who he is beyond being an athlete. Since that day, he has been flying towards collective excellence. Today, he wishes to share what he has learned about the perfect synergy of a team outside the sports circle. Communication, ego management, training methodology, adaptation, leadership, and risk management are themes he still experiences daily with his teammates in the French team and from which he will never cease to draw lessons.

Collective Excellence
Skydiving is often perceived as an individual sport, but that is not the case in my practice. We are three teammates operating in three dimensions at speeds approaching 300 km/h. Timings are clearly defined, and we learn to fly in synergy throughout the duration of the jump! I talk about communication and its key role in performance as well as innovation. How to convey a message and receive it in a way that moves us in the right direction? The particular methodology I use to prepare effectively with my team also plays a crucial role; how to train efficiently and not be caught off guard when the plan does not unfold as expected? Because let's face it, nothing ever goes as planned in my experience... Alignment and cohesion are crucial for my team: how do I manage tensions or disagreements that may arise between us? Ego can destroy a team: how do I manage to set it aside on a daily basis to maintain cohesion? Finally, how can we not address risk management in my discipline: I explain how I manage to maintain control in such an extreme activity!
