Pierre Et Myriam Cabon
We fight against the physical and psychological limits that hinder progress
We are Myriam and Pierre: 📖 Authors: "A Spark in the Dark" (Fayard editions) 🎙 TEDx speakers 🏔 Founders of Wheeled World - The media for adventure for all Injured at the Bataclan, Pierre has been paraplegic since 2015: overnight, we had to learn to live with a wheelchair. We travel the world to experience extraordinary adventures and fight against the physical and psychological limits that hinder wheelchair travelers. After Machu Picchu and crossing New Zealand by tandem, this year we are embarking on the ascent of Kilimanjaro, with one goal: to make the impossible no longer exist. Our story is unique but our messages are universal. By sharing our journey, we especially want to convey what it has taught us about how to approach obstacles, managing external and personal constraints, and the keys to good collective performance.

Moving Forward Together: Empathy and Dialogue for Performance
Disability is a team sport. The more people there are, the faster we move forward in the right direction. The observation is simple: alone at the foot of a staircase, it is impossible to climb. With two, it will be possible to attempt the ascent, at the cost of significant efforts and provided that we are not in a hurry. With four... the question hardly arises anymore. Why almost? Because it is still necessary for teammates to be aligned on the optimal way to climb the steps. For Pierre, his position, his balance, his feelings. And for each of them, to avoid injuries or the risk of falling. Whether with two or more, our goal during our adventures is to optimize individual effort in service of collective effort. To go as far as possible, together. And like in any team, this requires communication for mutual understanding and effective problem-solving. However, in our case, successful communication conditions our success... but also our physical integrity.
To Live is First to Dare
By battling in the sand, the pebbles, on the slopes of a volcano or in the heart of a desert, we have forged a conviction. A field of constraints is like a rubber band whose flexibility depends on several factors: the environment, teammates, equipment, physical condition... and state of mind. Key messages: - Pushing your limits is above all about deciding to try. Perhaps other factors will prevent you from going very far, but only the state of mind can stop you from starting, - Among these factors, some are immutable; others can be influenced. By focusing on the latter and accepting the former, you will be able to optimize your energy allocation... And open up the field of possibilities.
