Eric Payan
Inspiring and motivating, 2 reasons to listen to what I have to share as a former executive and visually impaired person since the age of 18.
At only twenty years old, Éric Payan learns that he has a degenerative retinal disease: Stargardt disease. This marks the beginning of a long struggle during which victories and defeats, triumphs and disappointments will follow – a fight where each obstacle requires strength of character to overcome. From denial to acceptance of disability, the journey demands unwavering determination. After completing higher education in computer science, he had a fulfilling career that led him to take on increasingly significant responsibilities in an international industrial group, becoming a recognized expert in areas such as process digitization and Industry 4.0. In 2021, after leaving his position as Director of Digital Transformation, he founded his company "Point de vue" and began raising awareness among business leaders and their management chains about employing people living with disabilities. Today, he applies his skills, experience, and innate communication abilities to organizations to demonstrate that disability is not a hindrance but a tremendous booster for success. To complement his value proposition, for the past two years he has also been conducting fun workshops to discover visual impairment. His book published in 2018 titled LOOKING without SEEING (Edition de l'Officine) is the foundation of most of his conferences. link: https://www.fnac.com/a15974311/Eric-Payan-Regarder-sans-voir website: www.pointdevue.pro

From denial to the appropriation of his disability, there are many coping strategies to remain autonomous and to prove that success is within us regardless of our fragilities. Probably a unique example in France of a senior executive who has built a career, recognized as an expert in his field, and yet visually impaired.
All Extraordinary?
Leaders and managers, did you know that with equal skills and experience, it is preferable to hire a person with a disability? It is by starting this conference with this statement that Eric Payan arouses the interest and questioning of his audience. He then demonstrates how people with disabilities are excellent recruits for organizations.
