Alix Willemez - Speaker on leadership

Crash survivor, explorer, expert in leadership, resilience, and optimism in the face of major climate transitions.

At 19, I survived a plane crash. Shortly after, I lived with nomads in Mongolia. Two foundational experiences that taught me one essential thing: the world is unpredictable, but we can learn to navigate it with clarity and agility.

Today, I support organizations on major ecological transition issues, biodiversity, and sustainable development. I address how global transformations — climatic, energy-related, and geopolitical — are already redefining risks, opportunities, and economic models.

With over 20 years of experience, I hold five master's degrees, including one from the University of Cambridge and one from the College of Europe in international relations and diplomacy. I am currently enhancing my training with a Harvard degree focused on power and positive change.

My work involves breaking down silos to help leaders better understand a world that has become systemic: energy, resources, water, value chains, and geopolitical stability are now deeply interconnected.

I help companies develop a forward-looking perspective on global changes to strengthen their resilience, leadership, anticipate disruptions, and transform uncertainty into adaptability.

My approach is both analytical and action-oriented: providing clarity in complexity, inspiration in transformation, and optimism in a context often perceived as unstable.

For ultimately, the organizations that will succeed tomorrow will not be those that avoid change, but those that know how to prepare for and adapt to it faster than others.

Que faisait Alix Willemez avant d'être conférencière ?

Before becoming a speaker, I worked for over 20 years in the fields of energy, renewable energies (notably biogas and marine energy), energy policy and climate governance, and climate finance, as a consultant, expert, and advisor to international organizations, governments, and financial institutions.

I started my career as an officer in the national navy.

Qu'est-ce qui a fait de Alix Willemez une conférencière ?

What made me become a speaker is the conviction that climate, energy, and geopolitical issues are still too often treated in silos, whereas they are deeply interconnected.

After years of working on these topics within international organizations and governments, I felt the need to make this complexity more readable and accessible to help decision-makers better anticipate ongoing transformations.

My goal is to transform uncertainty into understanding, and understanding into the capacity for action.

What is Alix Willemez's speaking angle?

My unique angle is resilience in the face of global transformations, informed both by my professional experience in climate and energy governance and by my personal experience of an airplane crash.

This has given me a very concrete understanding of uncertainty: understanding how systems shift, and how we can adapt, bounce back, and regain the capacity to act even in situations of disruption.

Thus, I provide both a systemic and embodied vision of resilience.

How does the audience experience a talk by Alix Willemez?

The audience experiences my interventions as a moment of both reflection and breakthrough.

Many tell me they leave with a clearer and more structured vision of topics they previously perceived as complex or fragmented.

There is often a change in perspective: participants realize the connections between issues they thought were separate and gain a better understanding of the world.

Beyond understanding, there is also a positive emotional dimension: the interventions are perceived as stimulating, engaging, and energizing.

The audience generally leaves with more confidence, a form of lucid optimism, and especially concrete ways to act and adapt in uncertain environments.

Why do organizers like working with Alix Willemez?

Organizers generally choose to work with me for several reasons: my responsiveness in exchanges and preparation, my ability to adapt to very varied formats, audiences, and contexts, and my approach that is both serious in content and lively in form.

I place great importance on the fluidity of collaboration in advance, which facilitates organization for the teams.

On stage, I bring a dynamic, accessible, and engaging energy that makes complex subjects easier to grasp and creates a real connection with the audience.

What concrete results can the audience expect after a talk by Alix Willemez?

Participants leave with a toolkit to face changes: a method to step back in complex situations, keys to develop sustainable resilience, an ability to connect seemingly scattered information, and a more optimistic mindset in the face of crises.

They gain confidence to act in an uncertain environment, rather than just endure it.

Artificial Intelligence: Face-to-Face or Cooperation? How to Remain Resilient, Human, and a Leader in This New World Shaped by Technology and Uncertainty

Artificial intelligence is already disrupting our organizations, our professions, and our decision-making processes. Should we see it as a threat, an adversary to confront face-to-face, or as a partner with which to learn to cooperate? After surviving a plane crash at 19 and living among nomadic communities in Mongolia, I learned that the most destabilizing disruptions become manageable once we change our posture towards uncertainty.

In this conference, I apply this same lens to the revolution of artificial intelligence. I demonstrate how leaders and teams can transform the fear of AI into a collective adaptability, relying on concrete benchmarks rather than reflexes of control or resistance.

The audience leaves with a clear understanding of the governance, ethics, and leadership issues raised by AI, as well as a simple framework for deciding, within their organization, what should remain human, what can be delegated to machines, and how to build a truly complementary cooperation between the two.

Nourished by over twenty years of experience in transition governance, international relations, and resilience, I propose a reading that is both systemic and actionable: neither technophobia nor blind adherence, but a concrete method to remain clear-sighted, human, and a leader in a world where artificial intelligence is already reshuffling the cards of power and decision-making.

Transforming Chaos into Opportunity: How a Plane Crash and Life with Nomads in Mongolia Taught Me to Make Uncertainty a Leadership Strength and Resilience

"Transforming Chaos into Opportunity" is a conference on resilience, uncertainty management, and transforming crises into opportunities, born from a strong personal experience: at 19, I survived a plane crash.

Rather than defining myself by this accident, I then went to live in Mongolia with nomadic communities, in a completely unknown environment, far from any frame of reference.

In this conference, I share how these extreme rupture experiences changed my way of seeing the world: when everything collapses, we do not just "understand" resilience, we live it.

The audience leaves with a simple yet powerful idea: chaos is not an end, it is often a tipping point. Through lived stories and a very concrete reading of transformation, I provide keys to better navigate uncertainty, adapt faster, and transform moments of crisis into opportunities for evolution rather than blockages.

The audience leaves with a 3-step action plan to strengthen their resilience in the face of crisis or change situations:

  1. Read chaos differently: learn to identify what is truly transforming (and not what seems to be "collapsing"), to avoid decisions driven by fear or confusion.

  2. Recreate anchor points: develop simple personal and collective markers to maintain stability when the context becomes uncertain.

  3. Switch to adaptive action mode: adopt concrete reflexes to adjust quickly, transform constraints into opportunities, and act even without perfect visibility.

Beyond the method, participants especially leave with a change of perspective: the ability to no longer experience chaos as paralysis, but as a space for decision-making, adaptation, and sometimes even the creation of opportunities.
