Dominique Bonsergent
Become a Reference Manager -
Dominique is a passionate speaker about the business world and its evolutions over time. Because "the world is moving", Dominique makes you move. He makes you move outside the conventional tracks, to better bring you back to them. Dominique started his career as a young salesperson in a group distributing cultural and electronic products. In his first year, he became the best salesperson in his entity, applying his own rigor and technique, and bringing the client into his passion. The client does not buy the product; he buys his salesperson. Very quickly, Dominique managed the commercial sector and was then led to pilot sales teams all over France, even opening a site in Italy, in Milan. His meeting with François-Henri Pinault propelled his career, increasingly integrating the entire business: team management, strategic management, budget oversight. Today, Dominique provides advice to business leaders and individually coaches executives. During his conferences, you will follow the days of Nicolas, a manager of an unstable team in a large SME. who realizes today that his job has become a true high-level sport. Leading a team of 12 collaborators, with varied profiles and sometimes opposing personalities, he must juggle operational urgencies, performance objectives, internal tensions, and management expectations. Nicolas observes that management is no longer just a matter of organization, but a subtle balance between leadership, communication, emotional management, and constant adaptation. He often finds himself alone in complex situations, feeling the need to be both a coach, mediator, strategist, and psychologist.

Who am I?
What made me become a speaker
The relationship with the audience, the participants, the questions, sometimes other viewpoints (that's interesting too).
A failure or turning point that shaped me
Preparation is never perfect. On-site, everything is different. Adaptation is the key word.
What excites me about working as a speaker
Obviously the contact with the audience. Talking about the profession of manager, executive, leader. Talking about the company. Conveying a vision of management within the company. These strong moments of sharing. Each intervention is also a moment of learning for the speaker, even if we don't talk about it much.
The mission I'm carrying today
A vision of management for the years to come.
The belief or message I want to leave for the long term
That management is not an exact science, that continuous improvement is its foundation. Beware of those who claim to "master" management.
A personal story I often tell
Depending on the circumstances and the stakes... As a young manager in a company, I was asked to fire my N+1! How is that possible? (true story)
Positioning & expertise
What concrete problem I can help your audience solve
The coherence between the strategic and the operational A reflection on the positioning of strategic and operational management Demonstration of the essential link Motivation of the entire human value chain
Why book me rather than another speaker?
I know very well the economic issues of companies, and the needs of the entire management chain. I bring a personal vision of the entire management chain within the company. 79% of employees leave the service or the company for managerial reasons. I address issues of motivation and turnover.
My specialty in one sentence
1/ Team management on the ground, the constraints between employees and managers 2/ Strategic management: economy, markets, geopolitics, decision-making, and direction Issues related to motivation, organization, and turnover. I highlight the cost of ineffective management.
Topics I don't cover
none
My unique angle
I use very concrete examples, bringing to life Nicolas, an operational manager confronted with his daily reality. This concerns middle management and strategic steering. I challenge certain situations encountered. I question the "no waves" approach and its heavy human and legal consequences.
The field experience behind my message
15 years of experience in the company: employee then leader. I have worked a lot on change and transformation within the company. Today, I encounter the issues faced by leaders as a Consultant: advice, coaching, training, co-development, support.
My speaking style in one or two sentences
I use a rather direct style, slightly provocative at times to provoke reactions, and humor to maintain attention. I rely on real examples experienced in the company.
Which audiences get the most from my sessions
Executives and Leaders Business schools
Which types of organizations I'm the best fit for
All sectors of activity (industry/services/health), I currently work with companies of all sizes, local or international. Large retail suits me well.
Concrete outcomes your audience can expect after I speak
An innovative and very concrete vision of team management, a pragmatic managerial logic. The idea is awareness, to revolutionize the daily routine and better transform strategy into operations. A controlled turnover and renewed involvement from all parties.
The method, framework, or philosophy I stand for
I emphasize the creation and use of a framework, a constructed and written managerial line, shared. It is very rarely encountered, yet it is the basis of effectiveness. This is what I particularly demonstrate. I use many situations through Nicolas.
Results & credibility
What organizers and audiences tell me most often
Following interventions: "I have modified my communication..." "I tried... and it works" "Thank you for this relevant perspective" "I spend more time reflecting on my posture"
Format
On-site, remote, or hybrid: what I accept and prefer
Emotion comes through in-person interactions.
Limits & transparency
How I handle a difficult or low-energy audience
I try to manage these audiences by integrating them into my discourse, my examples, and situations. But I always ask in advance if it is a willing audience or not.
If tech fails: how I respond
One must have fun with it. My presentation is structured, and I can continue without the technology. Like some of my colleagues, I always request a flip chart. I once asked participants at a large company site to go have a coffee and come back 15 minutes later.. In general, technical issues are well understood.
How I handle tough questions and running over time
The concept of time is addressed at the end of the presentation to discuss questions/answers. It is easy to refer to since the rules are known. If there are many questions, I respond privately, or I take more time out of respect for the audience. For difficult questions, I break down the topic to understand the objective or purpose with the requester. It is quite rare but it happens.
What can derail a session, in my view — and how I prevent it
Poor preparation: Knowledge of the company, its markets, and its issues Not knowing the profile of the participants and their needs or expectations Poor structure, unclear thread, lack of relationship with the audience, austere facilitation, lack of rhythm... There are many reasons, which implies careful preparation.
Logistics & organization
What technical setup I need on site
Equipment for practical purposes: Screen, sound system, flip chart. A room large enough for the comfort of the audience, and a space to be able to move on stage.
How early I usually arrive before the event
On-site, at least 1 to 1.5 hours before opening. To be defined with the client.
Whether I travel internationally and if I need an interpreter
Travel to France and Switzerland.
My slides, filming, and reusing recordings
Unless specifically requested, I do not provide the documents. For filming, please let me know the request in advance. Generally, I do not refuse.
My availability before/after, networking, meet & greet
Yes, of course. It's important.
Working together
Why organizers like working with me
Generally for the contact and involvement in their project.
